We make prototype molds and dies designed for small-series production.

Prototype tooling, also known as rapid tooling or soft tooling, allows customers to test their ideas in real conditions using the same material as planned for final production. 

Advantage of prototypes over mass production tools for small series and testing purposes:

– Lower cost due to less durable material than hardened steel used in mass production tooling.
– Shorter production time.
– Possibility of changing and refining the part design before going into mass production to avoid costly mistakes. 

Advantages of prototype tooling over 3D printing or CNC machining:

– Only prototype tooling parts can reproduce the very tight tolerance and production finish you need, and have the right strength.
– Cost effectiveness. Per-piece costs for larger pre-production runs are lower than 3D printing and CNC machining costs, which remain static regardless of production lot size.
